The summer is officially over in New York. The colors of the CP’s trees turn to every shades of orange. The rink is already all set and Starbucks launched its Pumpkin Spice Latte, Pumpkin scones, and all others Pumpkin something. The time for me to remember my last and wonderful weekend of summer on the Jersey coast; a sweet throwback to those few days hosted by an adorable Brazilian/American family.
About 1h30 by train from the city (from Penn Station), we got off at Manasquan Beach. We crossed many long bridges and had a beautiful view during the whole trip. Just arrived to our destination, the skyline was definitely different from Manhattan, no more skyscrapers but only cute streets with typical American houses, as usual, « like in the movies ». It was like in a dream; every house is in a different color like grey, pink, blue, or even yellow. This little town inspires tranquility, good vibes and happiness. The salty smell of the sea, the wind and the sound of the waves, make you realize that you are finally on holiday. The barbecue, the beach volleyball court, the bottles of wine, the jacuzzi, everything was waiting for us. I felt directly at home with this nice and generous family. The schedule was done; Brazilian barbecues, drinks, party, bike rides along the seafront, beach volleyball, swim, paddle, brunch with the entire family and, of course, sunbath!
I would like to share with you this warm atmosphere by some pictures and videos I took during that weekend. I am really grateful for this lovely family I met and I wish them all the best for their future. A special thanks to my fabulous friend Larissa without whom none of this would have been possible.
