4 days in Marbella

In Europe, it’s kind of easy to feel on holidays really quickly. Thanks to our low cost airline companies, we can reach the South in an hour or 2 and usually for an affordable amount. The south of France, Italy, Greece, we have many treasures on the old continent. This summer, I’ve discovered Marbella in Andalusia, Spain. It’s often nicknamed « the little Spanish Saint Tropez » because of the « bling bling » port of Puerto Banus; expensive cars and giant yachts, luxury boutiques, marble hotels from the ground to the ceiling, unaffordable beach clubs, … You definitely realize that you should be wealthier to spend more time there. But in both the center of Marbella and Puerto Banus, there is a very nice waterfront walk with palm trees all along, a bit like in LA! Many restaurants are right on the beach with barbecues inside old rowboats and a wide choice of seafood dishes.

The old town of Marbella

Our biggest crush goes to the beach club Playa Padre, a stunning place on a quite empty beach of Marbella (on the east side). If you want to eat healthy and refined food, feet in the sand, listening to good DJs or lie on a very comfortable bed to get a tan, this is the place to be. Prices are not exaggerated and the service is amazing! Nice people, beautiful place, good food, good music and even a boho clothes boutique with plenty of wonderful dresses… Do we need anything else?

The idea was also to discover the little white villages in the Mountains. Indeed, there are old Moorish constructions all around when you get back inside the country. Around Marbella: Ojen, Mijas, Casares and Ronda. If you have to choose one, you must go to Ronda, it’s just so beautiful!

Welcome to Ronda, Andalusia:

The lovely Mijas:

Oh and I forgot to tell you about our gorgeous apartment !! I recommend you to book your stay there, no matter what 😀  Urbanization Nueva Andalucia is like a small suburb out of the crowd. It’s really convenient because it’s only 2 min by car from Puerto Banus and 15 min from the center of Marbella. There is a big supermarket right in the middle of the village and some nice restaurants. People are really friendly there! The gardens around the blocks are stunning and the interior decoration of the apartment is incredibly well chosen. The price was really interesting. We booked it through booking.com and we are 100% satisfied. We had a large terrace to enjoy our breakfast, 2 bathrooms, 2 big bedrooms, a living room and a suitable kitchen, marble everywhere of course! Each block has it’s own swimming pool surrounded by palm trees, so it’s not busy at all and very clean.

If you visit Andalusia, you definitely have to stop by … You won’t regret it!
