I’m having such a nice summer. We enjoyed a beautiful weather in Belgium in June, then I went to Marbella where the sun is always shining… And now I’ve got the chance to live 5 weeks in Vancouver, Canada, where it’s usually raining through the year but since I arrived; not a drop of rain! Every single day, the weather is ideal and temperatures are between 20°C and 30°C.
A great time to discover this amazing city and its many things to do!
First, I walked around in Gastown, the neighborhood where I was staying for my first week. Supposed to be the fashion hood with fancy boutiques and people… well, it’s a bit more creepy than that! The streets are mostly dirty and, sadly, you see many homeless people or under drugs (day or night). You won’t feel unsafe but still, it’s not really pleasant. By the way, there are nice bars and restaurants here and there, it looks a bit like The Meatpacking in NYC. I recommend you to have diner at Alibi Room, they have healthy food and good beers! Many people told me about having brunch at The Jam Café as well, located on Beatty Street, it seems that it worths the wait but I haven’t tried yet. My favorite place there stays the Prado Cafe where you can eat amazing avocado toast with poached egg, drinking a tasty almond cappuccino. On Water Street, I felt in love with a little boutique where they sell women’s clothes and accessories but also home decorations. And it’s soooo cute! My favorite so far! The products are well-chosen, special, the prices are affordable, the staff is nice, what else? If you’re around, you should definitely stop by: The Latest Scoop. They have 4 stores in Vancouver !
A few pics of Gastown streets…
And you guys, I’ve to tell you about this fabulous Airbnb I rented! The interior decoration was absolutely wonderful, kind of exposed beam and brick NYC style loft. Fancy furnitures and rose gold details, everything that I like ! I felt directly at home which is important when you are on a long tiring journey. My host, D’Arcy, was really easy to communicate with and we found out that we have a lot in common. It was her first time on Airbnb and so do I, we directly get along! So if one day you come to Vancouver, double check if her place is available <3 https://www.airbnb.fr/rooms/20396204
